Breanna is apparently a really big fan of my work. One of my photos of Destiny Owusu is actually the wallpaper on her phone haha. She got my contact info through the MUA I work with, Tomi, and we set up this brand shoot.
Not gonna lie, I did not expect it to be this epic. Breanna put sooo much effort into it, booking amazing models and setting everything up in her backyard for the video shoot. I was quite amazed.
So I would like to introduce you to her collection, Diallo Dynasty. The website has been live for a few weeks now. If you see a piece you like, make sure you support!

I shot this amazing portrait in Breanna’s living room. No soft boxes. I used one strobe pointed at the wall behind me so that I could create super soft light. Then I used another strobe on Mbayang’s right side, pointing at the wall to make it pure white. Boom.

Breanna and the models are all Senegalese. It was really cool getting to know their culture for a few hours.
I wasn’t feeling the beautiful gold crown against a white back drop, so I suggested we use black instead. Roody & I set up a black V-flat and changed the lighting to make it more moody. The second portrait is my absolute favorite.
“Fueled by the deepest liberation of self, Diallo Dynasty enhances royalty through the adornment of diasporic golden accessories.”

Ndeye exuded soooo much confidence while we were shooting, and I loved it.
I am so honored to have photographed these beautiful African Queens, and I appreciate the fact that Breanna trusted me to bring her vision to life.
